Design toolbelts for everyday use

In Autodesk Civil 3D 2024 from Start to Finish, we covered most of the tools we have at our disposal within Civil 3D. With those tools discussed, we essentially grouped, or categorized, them into three toolbelts based on the major types of design applications they support, and also discussed a practical implementation of these toolbelts.

Types of toolbelts

Here are the three toolbelts based on the major types of design applications:

• The Land Development toolbelt primarily focuses on foundational site design components, involving the creation and management of parcels and sites and the application of grading tools. These tools are essential for establishing the foundation and groundwork of a residential subdivision design (refer to Figure 2.22).
