Extending Infrastructure Projects beyond Civil 3D
This part of the book is focused on extending and drilling into the depths of what Civil 3D can do for infrastructure projects. So far, a majority of the chapters in previous parts of this book have delved deeper into Civil 3D itself, but this part will look at Civil 3D and branch away from it, showing how to carry the accurate designs it produces to other software programs for further leverage of the work done.
The first chapter of this part carries Civil 3D into the world of design coordination with Navisworks, a program that can act as a nimble aggregator of many different file formats for the merging and comparison of data to understand how designs from other disciplines interact with each other. This can be incredibly useful when coordinating infrastructure projects that have an interior and an exterior component and when utility handoffs must be made between the two. Navisworks is the program used to meld all this data, present...
