Prework and orientation
Significant prework will be required to have an understanding of the company or entity that you are considering, usually involving some research around their operations, locations, financial statements, the board, and the management team. Some insights may also come from the recruitment agency that is involved in the process.
I suggest that you review some relevant news stories from the last few years. It is often difficult to gain an understanding of the IT or cyber strategy of an organization from news sources as CIOs and CISOs can often be quite low profile. There are usually some interviews or articles by vendors about successful new innovative projects that can provide limited insight.
As a minimum, I would suggest that you read the following:
