Improved Performance and Reliability
As has been the case with many other technologies, SSL VPN technology continues to grow faster and more reliable as it matures. This is due to three primary factors:
SSL VPN vendors are leveraging faster hardware as it becomes available (and less expensive).
SSL VPN vendors are increasingly offering performance and reliability improving technology within their offerings. SSL accelerators, load balancers, and the like are becoming standard components of SSL VPN offerings. Caching performed by SSL VPN servers to improve performance is also likely to become more common with time.
As SSL VPN software is utilized by a growing number of organizations, it is subjected to more-and-more real-world use. Bugs within product design and code are discovered and corrected. In addition, any incompatibilities with specific applications are also able to be detected and repaired. This trend toward improved reliability and performance will certainly continue.
