Understanding architectural patterns within RISE with SAP
In Chapter 3, we provided a high-level overview of the different points to be considered when planning to move to RISE with SAP. In this section, we will focus on a deep dive into the architectural patterns around these connectivity options and how they impact your adoption of RISE with SAP.
Firstly, it is important to understand the multi-cloud connectivity pattern, which provides an insight into how your other SaaS- or BTP-based extensibility or BPI-based components will integrate with your S/4HANA or other RISE with SAP-related components deployed on your choice of hyperscaler. As you can see in the following figure, SaaS products such as Ariba, Concur, and others are connected to BTP through an OData connection and then using the cloud connector, the SAP BTP landscape establishes connectivity to the SAP S/4HANA-based solution in question on RISE with SAP.
