Designing a network topology for multi-cloud – thinking ahead
Before designing the network topology, we need to answer one question: what does the business require in terms of connectivity? But there are a few more things to carefully consider before you start designing and implementing VPNs or ordering direct connectivity.
The first step is assessment. A company will already have a network. You will need to assess how that network is configured. How do users connect to systems? How do they access the internet? How is traffic routed through systems? How are these systems protected from a network perspective? Where are firewalls, the proxy, and the reverse proxy situated? Yes, this is all important before we start designing a connection to a public cloud.
