The Office 365 Security & Compliance Center allows you to search content across many locations in Microsoft 365 using a single search. The search is an essential part of eDiscovery cases, providing a starting place for discovering content matching specific criteria. We'll be covering cases in the Configuring eDiscovery section.
When setting up a new search, you have two options:
- New search (normal search setup)
- Guided search (wizard-guided setup)
Once you've completed a new search, you can export its export file to run a search based on its ID list by selecting Search by ID List. This requires you to upload a previous search's export file to narrow a new search to specific items within the export file.
