Planning and configuring information retention

We discussed designing retention policies in Microsoft 365 in Chapter 9, Configuring Data Loss Prevention (DLP). Retention policies should be a central part of your data governance strategy and can involve deletion (automatic or allowed) as well. In this section, we'll take a closer look at creating a retention policy from the Microsoft 356 Compliance Center (compliance.microsoft.com).

Let's begin by looking at retention periods and possible deletion options once a retention period ends.
