In this section, we will create the Ladder Logic version of our recipes. Our recipes are based solely on running specific pumps for a predetermined amount of time. But how long should we run the pump for in order to get the correct amount of each ingredient? The specifications for the 12 V dosing pump recommended for this project will pump between 170 and 460 ml per minute. The reason there is a range is that no two pumps are exactly alike.
It is likely that you will need to fine-tune the timings to get that 1-ounce shot consistently. The good news is that once the dosing pump is broken in a bit and you have that 1-ounce shot dialed in, it will then be able to hit that measurement very accurately. As we will need a good starting point for our recipes, let's start by landing on an average estimated flow rate of 300 ml/min, which equates to 5 ml/sec.
We will write all of our recipes assuming the flow rate will...
