Creating a custom preflight profile
Preflighting is a powerful way of automatically checking your document for a wide range of potential problems, but it is only as good as the profile you create – set up the profile wrong or use the wrong profile, and you will either be missing potentially serious problems that will affect your document or you will be seeing lots of errors listed for things that aren’t necessarily a problem.
In this recipe, we are going to set up a custom preflight profile for checking your document. I am going to create a preflight profile for a print-ready PDF document, but as we do this, I will also flag the settings for other types of documents too.
Getting ready
In order to complete this recipe, simply open InDesign on your system and create a new document with 12 pages, as shown in the Creating a new document recipe in Chapter 1.
