Chapter 7: SmartConsole – Familiarization and Navigation
In this chapter, we will learn about the SmartConsole application, your primary interface for the daily administration of Check Point infrastructure components. While it may seem complex on the surface, this application, as you start working with it, will reveal its UI logic to be intuitive and accommodating. By learning to identify its various elements, you will develop a sense of how a variety of tasks could be accomplished in a number of different ways.
This chapter will follow the structure of the interface from the outside in, describing its integral components, and following the expanded views and panes, contextual action menus, search and filtering capabilities, as well as many other elements.
