Data Governance Essentials
In the last chapter, you learned about the essentials of cloud data security. You explored the cloud data life cycle, data flows, data classification, and common threats based on the various cloud storage types.
You will continue to look at data in this chapter, but from the perspective of data governance. Cloud data security and governance are not only important practices for your organization but also essential areas of study for the CCSP exam. You will review the key concepts of governance relating to the data life cycle phases in cloud environments, including Information Rights Management (IRM) as well as best practices for auditability, traceability, and accountability.
By the end of this chapter, you will be able to answer questions on the following topics:
- Data governance
- IRM and its implementation
- How to define, design, and implement auditability, traceability, and accountability for the cloud data life cycle phases
