We made it to the end of this chapter! We covered the TCP/IP model and all its protocols, and broke down each protocol and how we would use them. We compared the original TCP/IP model to the OSI model and to the new TCP/IP model. We also learned the anatomy of IP addresses, their classes, hosts, default masks, and we even looked at special types of addresses and reserved addresses.
I can't stress enough how important IP addressing is, not only for your certification but in the real world as well. You need to know IP addressing like you know your alphabet. In this chapter, we simply scratched the surface with IP addresses. In the next chapter, we will dive deep into the world of IP addressing.
