Having spent many years of my life in and around Dynamics 365 mainly CE it is still good to know the foundations are the same across the entire Dynamics stack.I have spent years in Warehousing, Logistics and Transportation as well as Financial systems so it was great to be offered the chance to look at this great book which covers the vast array of content within what is a fast pace changing development area with the advances in AI and IoT this book helps to get you to grip the foundations to boost your career in the right direction or just for general reference. So my take on the book..Product Information Management (PIM) and BOM with what is a product and product variants I.e. size, colour of a T-Shirt all a core part of PIM to how to create and handle hazardous materials establishing effective protocols and ensure compliance and then onto BOM designing and creating them to build out what is each component needed to make up a product.Inventory Management – inbound, outbound and internal moving between warehouses and adjustments good to see the Landed Costs and Good-In-Transit mentioned as this is becoming more and more of a requirement of many companies using imports from abroad to fulfil orders as well as the FIFO costing method.Procurement and Sourcing RFQs and PO Processing the Procure-to-purchase process was nice to see this going through the RFQ then convert to a PO managing every step with you from vendor bidding and communications all in one place.Quality Control with Quality Management and conformance constraints setting clear consistent products the book explores many aspects of this so worth a read.Sales and Customers with Sales Quotations and Sales orders all covered in this Order to Cash steps as well as intercompany mentioned here too.Warehousing Management Information (Best Practices and Strategies)Setup and Transfers, Replenishments and Sales Order picking and cross-docking and a containerisation process flow nice touch.Transportation Management – planning to execution, routing and planning with segmentation and scheduling.Master Planning or materials resource planning (MRP) allowing plan of your materials and manage stocks according to company needs manufacturing or distribution the MRP will ensure that a company has everything required to address these needs and demands, great section and have spent many hours poring over other books in this area alone nice to see the term Bullwhip effect.
