New document setup and editing your current document setup
When setting up a new document, you have a few options to consider. These options usually depend on the type of project you are going to work on. You can choose from a host of predetermined presets that the team at Serif has created for you or templates that you can define and save for reuse or entirely custom options you create specifically for each job. Whichever method you choose, Affinity Designer will remember the last settings you used and will present you with them the next time you create a new document, until you make further changes.
The New Document dialog
Figure 4.3 shows the New Document dialog. It is split into three separate sections. In section 1, you can choose between Presets or Templates. Choosing one of these will determine what is shown in section 2 and in section 3. For the purpose of this book, we will be just discussing the Presets section.
