Implementing Basic Lean-Agile Solutions Teams (BLAST)
One of the hallmarks of the Scrum framework is its simplicity, with its three pillars, three roles, five events, and three artifacts. This simplicity makes Scrum an ideal Agile framework for individual small teams.
To properly scale Agile across the enterprise, we need to increase the number of teams, not the number of people within each team. While individual teams can retain Scrum’s simplicity to support their work, complexity arises when integrating and coordinating work across multiple teams. This is where the BLAST framework becomes crucial – to manage those complexities, as shown in Figure 8.1.
