Data Pump scenarios
As I have mentioned earlier, the best way to learn how to use Data Pump is practicing scenarios to see by yourself how it works and what you can do with it. In this chapter, we will see the following scenarios:
Schema export and import
Table export and import
Exporting and importing a whole database/pluggable database
Using export to estimate space
Parallel full database export and interactive command mode
Importing tables with only metadata
Export views as tables
Import data via network link
Now, let's start playing with Data Pump!
Schema export and import
In this scenario, we will first create a schema named test, and then create a table named EMPLOYEES that will hold our employees' data, followed by inserting a few rows in it. Then, we will execute an export operation to backup this schema, delete it, and then recover it through an import operation. Have a look at the following command:
