Overview of the Visio categories and templates
The normal Visio user selects a Visio template from a category, in the Backstage Getting Started view, of the Visio user interface, as opened by the File | New option,
If you were to read the diagram template name, then you may think that there is a Visio template called Audit Diagram (Metric).vst
in a folder called Business
, somewhere on your hard-drive. However, that is not correct. In fact, there is a file called Audit_M.vst
in<Program Files>\Microsoft Office\Office14\Visio Content\1033
. The<Program Files>
folder is usually C:\Program Files
, and 1033
is the major language group ID. In my case, although UK English is 2047
, the major language is US English, which is 1033
. Therefore, my Microsoft Office content is installed under the 1033
sub-folder.
