Refunding orders and payments
Of course, no matter how well you provide your services, such as advertising, describing, and shipping the products, some users will be unhappy and will want a refund. Refund rates vary wildly from industry to industry. Some industries will have refund rates in the low single digits, for example, 1-3%, whereas other industries, such as fashion, can have refund rates up to 25-30%, which is massive.
Once you’ve had a few refund requests, you’ll want to build a process to make it easier. Let’s start with manual refunds, and then look into building a refund process.
Refund requests
If a customer emails you, tweets you, or calls you for a refund, you’ll have to know how to make a refund. This can be done on the Edit order page.
