Using spotlights

One category of lights that can be found in Lumion is the spotlight. Lumion's spotlight is a very versatile light, and with this light, we can reproduce practically every source of light found in the real world. This recipe is going to introduce us to spotlights and some will provide us with tips to use this light.

Getting ready

For this recipe, we need to create a nighttime scene, so we don't have any influence from the sun over the interior lighting that we will add to the scene. To create a night scene, select the Weather menu, and from this menu, use the Sun height setting to transform a day scene into a night scene.

How to do it…

To add a spotlight to your scene, perform the following steps:

  1. You can create a layer called Lights_Interior and use this layer to organize all the lights you have in the interior of the building, and if needed, create a second layer for exterior lights.
  2. From the left-hand side of the screen, select the Objects menu and click on...
