Exporting for Apple devices and computers
You. Yeah, you, the one reading this book. You're obviously a Mac owner (or at least heavy Mac user). You're also a big Apple fan if you're using Final Cut Pro. We're going to guess you probably own an iPhone, iPad, iPod, or AppleTV (or some combination of all of the these devices). And if you're in the one percent that we were wrong about, you probably know about a million people who might want/need to view your video on one of the previously mentioned iDevices as well. Unsurprisingly, Apple has made it easy as (apple) pie (couldn't resist, sorry) to create versions of your movie for all the aforementioned iDevices.
But the Apple Devices menu found in FCPX's sharing options, is poorly labeled, or at least not completely labeled, as it is also about the easiest option to choose when you want to create a high-quality version of your movie that also looks great on a larger computer monitor and is a file size that's usually reasonable enough to send...
