Installing WebdriverIO
There are two options to use and install WebdriverIO
- Using WDIO TestRunner in async mode
- Using WedbriverIO in standalone mode
In the next chapter and throughout this book, we will be using the first option. Despite this, take a closer look at both options:
Option 1: Using WebdriverIO with its built-in WDIO TestRunner is the default mode and most common use case. The test runner efficiently addresses numerous challenges often encountered when utilizing basic automation libraries. First, it streamlines the management of your test executions by organizing and distributing test specifications to maximize concurrent testing. Additionally, it adeptly manages session operations and offers an array of features designed to aid in troubleshooting and error identification within your test suite.
