Maltego
Maltego is a data mining tool that can also be used for link analysis and data visualization. Users have the ability to track connections between entities, identify patterns, and uncover hidden relationships between entities.
Key features of Maltego include the following:
- Information gathering: This is the core feature of Maltego. Its purpose is to gather information. Then, as a bonus, the product was further refined to offer a plethora of helpful ways to work with that data as you will see in the following key features. Maltego facilitates the collection of OSINT data, social media platforms, websites, and other sources as seen in Figure 9.12.
Maltego offers a free version, which may be used so long as it’s not used for commercial use:
