Importing the Mud material
The first thing we need to do is to import the Mud material into the landscape scene, so let’s go back to the landscape scene from Chapter 7. Creating and Animating Realistic, Natural-Looking Water. In this scene, we don’t have the Mud material – we have only the rocky snow material applied to the landscape.
This is how the landscape looks so far with the rocky snow material applied:

To import the Mud material, we’ll be using the Append feature.
The Append feature allows us to reuse materials, objects, and other data loaded from another Blender file.
Let’s use the Append feature to import the mud material:
