Chapter 5. Creating a Multimedia Slideshow

If you're like me, you have thousands of photos on your computer hard drive. It's time to dust off a few of these photos for our next project as we will be creating a slideshow with images we import from our computers. To help us personalize our slideshow, we'll incorporate generic sounds and custom recordings into our project.

In this chapter, we will do the following:

  • Import personal photos as backdrops
  • Work with and resize images for use in our projects
  • Add slideshow controls to display images
  • Play and record sounds
  • Locate the x and y coordinates to locate the mouse and hide the navigation controls
  • Display a project in presentation mode

We will start simple with this project and add advanced features as we near the end of the chapter, but the basic slideshow framework should be well within reach of the youngest Scratchers.
