Using the outline editor to add dimensions
In this recipe, we will be adding a new application and database to our Essbase Server. We will use the Outline Editor to add the Year
and Scenario
dimensions to our outline. In addition, we will set up our Year
dimension as our Time
dimension and add time-series functionality to our database. We will also add two calculated members in the Scenario
dimension to take advantage of Essbase's variance reporting functionality. This recipe is the first of five recipes used to build and load the Sample
Basic
database.
Getting ready
To get started, click on your Start menu and navigate to Programs | Oracle EPM System | Essbase | Essbase Administration Services | Start Administration Services Console. In the Log in menu, enter your Administration Server, Username, Password, and click on the Log in button.
