Introduction


Web ADI allows us to integrate Oracle E-Business Suite data with common MS Office desktop applications such as MS Word, Excel, and Project. It enables us to extract data from E-Business suite into a spreadsheet, where familiar data entry functionality can be utilized in these tools to complete end to end Oracle E-Business suite processes. We can download, view, edit, and create Oracle E-Business suite data into these applications and then utilize the full functionality of these applications.

We can also use Web ADIs called integrators to upload data to Oracle EBS. We can call procedures to perform validating data before uploading it to the Oracle E-Business suite using public Oracle APIs. When validation fails, we can pass messages from the message dictionary to the spreadsheet to inform users of erroneous data.

Before we get going, we will install the database objects that we will use in this chapter. Please note that this chapter requires Version 12.1.3 of Oracle E-Business...
