Chapter 5. Troubleshooting App-V
The larger the complexity of our environment, the larger the varieties of problems that can be found in our implementation.
Troubleshooting tasks are not always straightforward activities; we have to understand that a simple error message in a pop-up window cannot be the final analysis we need to solve it. We need to understand the problem from several points of view: reviewing the errors, checking the event viewer, platform logs, or even changing the logging mode included by default.
As for any of the Microsoft platforms, App-V contains several log files—server, sequencer, and client logs—that we can use to get a deeper understanding about the exact problem we are having. These log files can be used in addition to obtaining statistical analysis of the App-V applications.
Regarding the sequencing phase, we can retrieve from log files some of the common errors that may appear in the capturing process. But, what is to be done when the sequencing process is completed...
