Firebase Crash Reporting and Crashlytics


Within the Firebase toolchain, Crash Reporting was a robust tool for collecting the nitty gritty report of errors and crashes. Despite the fact that it was powerful, it had its pros and cons. Crash analysis is a crucial ingredient of daily errands, and it aims at solving issues that users experienced with our app by looking by the side of the stack trace and, composed with its context, fixing problematic bugs and troublesome conditions. Firebase Crash Reporting will add 900 kilobytes of size to the APK (Android binary executable), whereas Crashlytics is close to 100 kilobytes. Keeping all of this in mind there are numerous technical factors that are accountable to make Crashlytics as the primary tool. Firebase officially declared that Crashlytics would be the primary solution for Crash Reporting soon. Overtime, Crashlytics has improved and eventually superseded Firebase Crash Reporting.
