Summary
You should now understand how to create shape files from Revit elements using Dynamo scripting, generate a Synoptic Panel/shape file visual in Power BI, and combine both data and visual elements in a Power BI report.
Throughout this whole chapter, we have reinforced the need to deeply understand the data structure of files (such as shape files), as well as the fact you will often be required to manipulate them into more workable files before introducing them to programs such as Power BI.
Should you feel comfortable doing so, it is suggested to try exporting different room data in your Excel export and try different report layouts in your Power BI report. This will help you master the Synoptic Panel and cross-report data, and process Revit data from Dynamo to external data sources – essential skills for a datasmith in the AEC industry!
