Modifying and animating the clouds


An element that can bring an extra touch to the final movie are the clouds. This is a component that does not always cross our mind when trying to attain a good-looking and realistic movie. Lumion provides us with a lot of freedom not only to change the appearance of the clouds, but also to animate and even create volume clouds to bring this fine-tuning to a different dimension. In this recipe, we are going to look into three different effects and how we can apply them to our project.

Getting ready

Before you begin, you need a simple animation to see these effects in action. If necessary, create a small clip with a few seconds.

How to do it…

Let's start with the Cloud effect; to use this effect, perform the following steps:

  1. Click on the New effect button.

  2. Choose the Weather tab and select the Cloud effect.

  3. The following screenshot shows the settings that are available with this effect:
