The PEP 8 convention provides a style guide for writing Python code. If you are working on a project that follows its own set of coding conventions, rather than enforcing the PEP 8 standards, you should adhere to the project-specific conventions. What matters the most is consistency. For any new project, you are strongly recommended to use the PEP 8 style guide.
