Chapter 10. Working Remotely (Replication/Synchronization)
Recently the White House hosted a forum on workplace flexibility where the benefits of working remotely were discussed. To quote Joe Davidson from the Washington Post:
Obama was speaking at a White House forum on workplace flexibility Wednesday and used the days that snow forced federal offices in Washington to close as an example of why the public and private sectors should adopt some alternative arrangements, such as telework, for their employees.
Telework is to work from home or outside the traditional office or workplace, using a computer or telephone connection.
Working away from the office is a popular alternative in this day and age, and often a more economical and greener alternative for organizations. No longer are we office bound as many of us have the flexibility and the technology available to work away from the office.
Working remotely for us could be that our workplace is our home. For others their job may call for them...
