There are many encryption algorithms available, out of which the most commonly used ones are explained as follows.
Examples of encryption algorithms
Advanced Encryption Standard (AES)
This is the cryptography standard that is trusted by the US government. It is symmetric. It is strong yet efficient in terms of resource requirements. Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) can have 128, 192 and 256-bit keys that are hard to crack. There have not been any reports of weaknesses in it thus security experts are convinced that it will remain strong for a long period of time. The only threat to this algorithm is a brute force attack, but fortunately, it will take a supercomputer 1 billion billion years to break the 128-bit key.
