Building a map
Indoor maps are based on the DWG format. DWG is a binary file format that contains two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) computer-aided design (CAD) designs with additional metadata. DWG is a native format that is accepted by many CAD applications such as AutoCAD. CAD drawings are vector-based.
The Creator service expects a drawing package. We will be using one of the sample packages of Microsoft. Download the following package: https://github.com/Azure-Samples/am-creator-indoor-data-examples/blob/master/Sample%20-%20Contoso%20Drawing%20Package.zip.
Unzip the package to a temporary folder and view the contents to have an idea of its structure.
A drawing package consists of one or more DWG files and a manifest file. In the case of an indoor map, each of the DWG files represents a floor of the building.
