Chapter 3. Creating Our First Universe

In this chapter, we will start getting our hands dirty. First, we will learn how to run SAP BO Information Design Tool (IDT), and we will have an overview of the different views that we have in the main IDT window. This will help us understand the main function and purpose for each part of the IDT main window. Then, we will use SAP BO IDT to create our first Universe. In this chapter, we will create a local project to contain our Universe and other resources related to it. After that, we will use the ODBC connection that we already created in the previous chapter to create a relational data connection. Then, we will create a simple Data Foundation layer that will contain only one table (Customers). After that, we will create the corresponding Business layer by creating the associated business objects.
