Additional best practices

By following the guidance detailed in this chapter, you are well on your way to having a powerful, intuitive, and successful Deals module. However, here are a few more suggestions that may enhance performance even more:

  • Try not to have too many stages. Ideally, there will be 6–12 stages in your sales process. Too few stages may result in details either missing or being contained within fields further down, which will make things not as intuitive as they would be if the details were visible on the milestone/timeline. Too many stages will make it harder to focus and effectively measure our progress. Sometimes, however, it is beneficial to have more stages to help manage the process after someone has placed the order.
