Exporting a QuickTime Reference Movie
Exporting to the QuickTime file format has become a very common way to get your content out of Media Composer and into another application (for example, for DVD encoding, for use as a reference with ProTools, to upload to the web, and so on).
There are a few things to be aware of when exporting a QuickTime Reference Movie out of Media Composer:
QuickTime Reference is not the same as a QuickTime Movie. A QuickTime reference is a very small file that simply points (refers) to the Avid Media Composer media files from your project.
