Creating custom pressure parts in Civil 3D
With our 12x8 Reducing Wye.dwg
file created and saved, let’s go ahead and start creating the bases of our custom part. If not done so already, it’s recommended that we first establish the level of detail (LOD) needed for our part based on design requirements along with familiarizing ourselves with the part specifications from a manufacturer’s website for the part that will be installed.
In the case of this demonstration, we’re going to refer to the U.S. Pipe fitting catalog to pull dimensions for our part from: USP_Flanged_Fittings_C110_Submittal_digital.pdf
(uspipe.com). As we navigate this specification document, we’ll see a table that details dimensions specific to 12x8 Reducing Wye
, as shown in Figure 7.1.
