Technical requirements

We will be using the same hardware and software requirements as discussed in the Technical requirements section of Chapter 1.

With that, let’s go ahead and open up the Grading Model_Start.dwg file located within the Civil 3D 2025 Unleashed\Chapter 4\Model location. Once you’ve opened it, you’ll notice that the file has been zoomed into our site, as displayed in Figure 6.1.

As you can see, we currently have our Survey Model.dwg externally referenced and our SRF - Existing Grade – FromSurveyPoints surface model data referenced in our file. We also have a few polylines depicting our overall proposed parcel, composed of two existing parcels, along with our building pads for each individual lot within our subdivision design.
