A lot of these concepts were new to me but I did not feel the need to look up every other concept online.Yes, it is that detailed.This book would make sense to a college student as well as a working professional.I have not read many books that address the practicality of the concepts so well.And to top it off, it has a dedicated chapter addressing the commercial potential of Arduino.I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the domain of IoT Cloud.This book will keep you hooked!

Arduino IoT Cloud for Developers provides a well-written overview of the title topic with lots of in-depth explanations of each facet of the Arduino-based cloud development environment. Starting off with a thorough introduction into the Arduino cloud theory of “things” and the underlying physical structures, low-code/no-code solutions, security, analog and digital interfaces, authorization and security, and other relevant topics are covered in appropriate depth and in a very readable style. The book does a nice job of describing sensor and Arduino hardware in the project example chapter. Fritzing diagrams and hand-wiring layouts on a prototyping board are included along with a finished PCB layout.The book contains some information about different language approaches although only Java (Node.js) and VSCode are covered in-depth. Interesting sections regarding process scheduling, over-the-air firmware and software updating, and CLI operations round out the book. There’s also a nice treatment of Node-RED for those interested in integrating other platforms like Raspberry Pi . Several non-Arduino-brand (but compatible) hardware solutions are presented. Product sourcing from different vendors (SparkFun, Adafruit, and Amazon) as well as pricing and enterprise / professional options are also covered.The only improvement this reviewer could suggest regards the fact that working through the “Assignments” requires access to at least some of the specific hardware required; completed solutions are not provided. For those who don’t have ready access to a lab setup, showing the expected results would greatly enhance the reader’s experience. Otherwise, Arduino IoT Cloud for Developers definitely deserves a place on the bookshelf of anyone who’s working with Arduino in the cloud.
