Developing your objectives
Having a clear and articulated set of objectives can be used for the right discussions when you are applying for a new role. Let’s look at an example of career and position goals:
- Career objective: “To be a successful CIO at a dynamic and growing company where IT is a strategic component of the business strategy and my impact as a leader can be significant.”
- Position objective: “To be able to make a valuable contribution as a senior leader in an organization that uses IT strategically and will allow me to develop and grow my leadership experience aligned to my longer-term career objectives.”
