The role in the team
An architect is not just a person building architecture. We must get away from the mindset of “the architect architects the architecture.” I’m not saying that teams shouldn’t have someone formally owning the architect’s role, but any developer can come up with ideas or insights over time that can impact the current state of architecture.
I found it essential in my journey to look at the architect’s role through two lenses: leadership over management and expertise over knowing everything. While the second one will be discussed in the next section, I would like to explore the leadership side of the role here.
