Summary
We make no apology for this being a long chapter because leadership is critical to any change initiative, especially if you are looking to implement SAFe®.
In this chapter, we looked at the three dimensions of aligning leadership:
- Helping them move from a fixed to a growth mindset and adopting a personal lifelong learning culture where the leadership needs to do as much, if not more, learning than anyone else.
- Leading by example, whereby they practice what they have been taught – for example, by getting the leadership to operate as an Agile team. This allows them to experience what it means to be Agile and model the right behaviors.
- Leading the change by drawing on the seminal work by John Kotter and his book, Leading Change.
Finally, we concluded with the CLC, which we believe could be the new management paradigm for the 21st century.
