Controlling Posting Dates when not posting by batch
Transactions in Dynamics GP can be posted individually or as part of a batch. When posting as part of a batch, the batch gets a posting date that can be different from the date of the transaction. For individual transaction posting, the posting date can also be different from the transaction but the way to accomplish that is not obvious.
When not posting in a batch, the Posting Date on a transaction is the date that the transaction will have in the General Ledger. The document date on represents, the date of the document, and is used to calculate aging for sales and purchase transactions. The posting date can be controlled separately. In this recipe, we'll take a look at posting a transaction with a posting date different from the transaction date.
