Summary
In this chapter, we covered some good features of Kibana, such as time series data handling, under which we covered conditional formatting and tracking trends. Using conditional formatting, we can apply conditional formatting on data plots, such as changing the color if a data range goes beyond a threshold value or changing the label of a plot in case something changes. Under tracking trends, we covered how to smooth a plot if it is noisy, as sometimes it is difficult to get an idea about the trend, and for those situations, we can use moving average for certain block sizes to get a smooth plot, using which we can take the decisions.
After conditional formatting and tracking trends, we explored the visual builder, using which we can work on time series data without depending on Timelion. This is again a very good feature as not everyone is familiar with Timelion because of its different syntax and ways of writing expressions. Using visual builder, anyone can achieve these features...
