After the 0.6.4. GUI console release, the main focus will be on the 0.7.0 release, which will provide full I/O and networking support, some features of which will certainly be needed in the Red/C3 toolchain. Android support is coming along well (for a demo, see https://www.red-lang.org/2018/04/sneak-peek-at-red-on-android.html), and is planned for the 0.7.1 release.
The next big milestones before the 1.0 release are as follows:
- 0.8: Support for modules, to facilitate working on bigger and more complex Red projects
- 0.8.5: Integrating an advanced garbage collector in the Red runtime
- 0.9: Concurrency support, initially like coroutines, before evolving into a full-concurrent actor model ...
