Alternative ideas for the game

Here are some alternative thoughts that may drive the game in another direction:

  • The setting can be changed, for instance, to a fantasy one. In this case, the protagonist can be used as a dragon (or have wings, himself being some sort of Icarus) to fly among the clouds where obstacles and enemies can be hidden.
  • Instead of space, the deep ocean can be used. The main character can use a diving dress. Shaders can be utilized to create interesting underwater effects.
  • A racing mode can be introduced: a circuit in space, few opponents, and some unexpected obstacles on the track.
  • Another possible mode can be called maintenance. The protagonist has to repair several modules on a ship deck (the player should hold a special button for a few seconds) while it is assaulted by the pirates. Enemies attack both the main character and the ship's modules. The objective is to maintain as many modules as possible for a fixed period of time (30 seconds, 45 seconds, 60 seconds...
