Chapter 10. The End User Experience: Preparing for Sametime Client Deployments
So far we have focused on the server aspects of Sametime. But as you know, Sametime includes client software as well. A successful installation, upgrade, or migration of Sametime includes planning for the deployment and management of Sametime clients. We will primarily discuss those aspects of deployment that are new or have changed with Sametime 8.5.2.
Kadeem's company has several locations and each location uses a different version of the Sametime client. When he upgrades the clients to version 8.5.2, he would like to be able to change the client preferences to a standard set across the company.
Sam has developed a new plugin for the Sametime client. He would like to keep any actions that his users need to execute to install the plugin to a minimum.
Tarita is responsible for managing users who use both the Sametime Connect Client and the Sametime Embedded Client. She is interested in preparing new client packages...
