Wireless networks are attack surfaces that attackers take advantage of if they can connect to them. In WiFi networks, there are two broad categories of vulnerabilities that can be exploited. The first vulnerability comes from poor configuration, while the second one is as a result of weak encryption. Poor configuration is normally caused by network admins that set up the network incorrectly. Poor encryption comes up as a result of the keys used to protect the network.
